“Fiat,” the Latin for “let it be done,” was chosen to embody Mary’s response to the Angel Gabriel informing her she would be the mother of Christ. Her act of humble submission to and active participation in God’s will serves as an example of faithful obedience to the Lord.

fiat_about_image1Understanding how difficult it is for some young people to say “yes” to the will of God, especially to the call to motherhood, the Fiat Center was created as a place to offer real options, real care and real healing.

The Fiat Center is a collaborative venture between the Catholic Gators at St. Augustine Church and Catholic Student Center at the University of Florida and the Pray for Life Network, our official 501 (3) (c) non-profit. It was established in early 2015 and officially dedicated on the Feast of the Annunciation, which commemorates Mary’s response to Gabriel.

The center is overseen by Lauren Troncoso West, Director, and Fr. David Ruchinski, Pastor of St. Augustine Church.
